With day trading in mind, the New Life Floors team are capable and experienced at stealthy night operations, installing hard wood and parketry floors for dozens of Melbourne boutiques and stores after nightfall. These retail projects also give us the opportunity to allow our expertise in the art of direct staining to come out - as the highlighted grooves and colour contrasts are perfect for these hot retail outlets. Constantly aware of accessibility issues, too, our team has the knowhow to ensure that your business is up to speed with the latest government requirements, without harming the aesthetic of your shopfront.

Developed in Chadstone's new "boutique" wing, the new Fragile store needed a premium timber floor to match their premium brand. New Life Floors installed a recycled Australian black-butt timber floor and even hand crafted matching recycled Australian black-butt beam covers. Both the floor and the beams were then clear coated in environmentally friendly Timberex clear varnish for a glossy look. The final product is a tier one Australian recycled timber floor and visual merchandising accessory.

New Life Floors recently finished one of their biggest tasks to date - Acne's new Melbourne GPO store. Covering an enormous area of 600 square metres, the floor needed to not only look striking, but act as the perfect backdrop to an environment that can only be considered a Melbourne institution. New Life Floors installed a recycled Victorian ash, that was cut to measure from square to square to create the incredible checkered pattern you see in the images above - in which the board grain stay consistent, even through changes in colour. The entire floor was finished with a luxophane paint and left to dry for 24 hours before applying double clear coats. The finished product is, in a word, stunning.

A feature point of Chadstone's new "boutique" complex is Melbourne's flagship Ben Sherman store - all the wood for which was provided by and installed by New Life Floors. From the welcome to the change rooms to the runway, New Life created the perfect couture look, utilising a chevron parketry in American oak for the latter two and a 185mm American oak solid timber board set, with 5mm beveled edges, for the former. All wood was finished with a direct stain and natural wax that was cleaned and rubbed down using traditional standards and techniques. We even worked with local graphic painters to apply the famous "target" to the showroom floor!

Arguably the most striking of all the stores in Chadstone's new "boutique" wing is the new Elwood store - the facial esthetics of which are due largely to the guys at New Life Floors. Besides our regular premium timber flooring, we also installed an expansive timber cladding face for the front of the store, as well as the change rooms and beams. As a finishing touch, we even cut each front facing board on 45 degree angles and matched the grain of each to create perfect right angle corners on all the wooden edges in and around the store. All the timber used was recycled messmate from our Echuca mill and it was graded prior to installation to help mask the grain. All hard wood was then treated with a natual wax for a perfect "used" look.

Melbourne's only Trenery store at the Highpoint Shopping Centre needed a fit-out to best complement their high-end apparel and pin-point visual merchandising - but the existing floor was concrete: normally a very tricky job. However, New Life Floors engineered and installed a pre-finished domestic timber floor and stuck it directly to the concrete, giving a completely seamless look that is truly remarkable. This pristine floor was then finished with a final coat of water based matte coating for protection and a touch of elegance.
